Susi Rosenfeld

For over twenty years, I’ve been dancing with people of all ages and backgrounds — in studios, theatres, schools, community spaces, care homes, museums, streets and parks.
I explore creative processes, body awareness, improvisation, and performance,
always looking for playfulness and the joy of movement.

Improvisation is central to my work — a way for people to connect without words and to create a shared language through moving together. To delve into movement and express what moves you. It can bring relaxation, curiosity, and a sense of belonging to something larger.

In my choreographic practice, I’m drawn to the surreal and poetic in dance. I always work in a collective, enjoy the input of other disciplines and I am looking for different ways to let the audiance participate. I also like to work site-responsive to connect art and everyday life. My background in geography continues to shape how I explore space, place, and presence.

I work with somatic approaches such as Body-Mind Centering®, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Feldenkrais and early developmental movement patterns. These practices help us access the embodied knowledge we all have. Through sensing, moving and touch, we discover pathways in the body that make movement natural and effortless. We explore different movement qualities and states of mind, creating space for awareness, creativity and ease in motion.

As an artist educator, I bring these principles into diverse contexts — using dance in its broadest sense as a way to meet, express, and create together.
